Farewell after 35 years
COO Ronald Paul leaves the Port of Rotterdam Authority
Ronald Paul, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, will step down from his position as a member of the Executive Board in September this year after eight years. After a good 35 years, he will be leaving the Port Authority. At the request of the Supervisory Board, Paul will remain an advisor to the Port of Rotterdam Authority for another six months.
Speaking about his decades at the Port Authority, Ronald Paul says: "I have enjoyed working at the Port Authority for many years with great dedication - eight years on the Executive Board and eight years at Maasvlakte 2. I feel privileged to have been able to do this with many committed colleagues, customers and business relationships. I would like to return the trust they have placed in me with my thanks and appreciation."
Allard Castelein, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, said on the occasion of Paul's departure: "I am extremely grateful to Ronald for everything he has meant to the port of Rotterdam. As COO, he has made a very valuable contribution to the further professionalization of our company and our reputation towards our clients and stakeholders."
On behalf of the Supervisory Board, Miriam Maes, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed her special thanks to Ronald Paul: "We are very grateful for his great commitment, performance and contribution during his 35 years with the Port of Rotterdam Authority and are very pleased that Ronald will continue to be available as an advisor to the Port of Rotterdam Authority for some time to come with his in-depth expertise and many years of experience."
