Editor-in-chief Torsten Buchholz retires
Christine Harttmann takes over transportation
The trade journal "Transport" is getting a new editor-in-chief. Christine Harttmann takes over editorial responsibility from Torsten Buchholz.
Long-time editor-in-chief Torsten Buchholz is retiring after a successful career as a journalist. For more than 25 years, the commercial vehicle and logistics expert dealt with the topics of transport optimization, drive technology, trade and transport policy as well as environmental protection and road safety. He was co-initiator and jury member of the "European Transport Prize for Sustainability", which has been awarded to companies in the commercial vehicle industry for the following year since 2011 and, since 2013, as a special prize to medium-sized freight forwarders and CEP services for their ecological, economic and social commitment.
After working as a journalist for radio as well as general interest and daily newspapers, Buchholz was editor of the trade journal "EuroCargo" from 1996 to 2000. This was followed by positions as editor-in-chief of the trade journal "materialfluss" (2000 - 2001) and as editor of the trade publications "Logistik inside" and "Verkehrsrundschau" (both Springer Nature), until he returned to his old place of work as editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Transport" in spring 2006.
"Torsten Buchholz has played a decisive role in shaping the reputation and development of our transport and traffic media over many years. His high journalistic standards and his outstanding specialist knowledge of our industries have made him a highly valued interlocutor," explains publishing house founder and publisher Wolfgang Huss.
Harttmann, who studied environmental engineering in Munich, began her journalistic career a good 20 years ago in the local editorial department of a daily newspaper, followed by various projects for several specialist publications. Between 2004 and 2010, she worked as an editor at "AutoCAD-Magazin" in Vaterstetten (WIN-Verlag). From there, she moved to Huss Verlag in 2010 to join the editorial team of "Recycling Technology". Since 2011, Harttmann has been working in the editorial department of the newspaper "Transport".
