CargoLine general cargo cooperation expands advisory board

On January 1, the general cargo cooperation CargoLine added Torsten Huberti (pictured) to its advisory board. Huberti, who is responsible for operations as Managing Director at CargoLine shareholder Schmidt-Gevelsberg (Schwelm), is to drive forward the optimization and digitalization of production processes even more.

"Due to market changes caused by online platforms and growth in the e-commerce sector, fueled by the coronavirus pandemic, our industry is currently undergoing accelerated change. This dynamic makes it necessary to constantly transform our SME cooperation. One of my primary goals as a member of the advisory board is therefore to help shape and drive this process forward," says Huberti, explaining his motivation for joining the advisory board of the general cargo network.

In addition to Torsten Huberti, the committee includes the shareholder representatives Ralf Amm (Amm Spedition, Nuremberg), Andreas Hartmann (Hartmann International, Paderborn), Heiner Koch (Koch International, Osnabrück), Bernd Schäflein (Schäflein Spedition, Röthlein) and Stefan Seils (Bursped, Hamburg), the franchisee representative Uwe Hofmann (Hofmann Internationale Spedition, Biebesheim am Rhein) and the industry expert Ewald Kaiser as an external consultant.

Change at the top of the Innovation working group

Thomas Bauer has been the head of the Innovation working group since January 1. The Managing Director of CargoLine shareholder Honold International in Neu-Ulm replaces Bernd Schäflein. In his role as a member of the advisory board, the latter will devote more time to supporting and developing the cooperation's start-ups, which include the online freight forwarder Cargoboard.

"I am delighted that after less than a year as a shareholder in CargoLine, I have already received the trust to lead the Innovation working group. I would like to expand this area management with fresh ideas, especially from the operational business, together with all other areas and thus build on the successful foundation laid by Bernd Schäflein," explains Bauer.

The Innovation working group is one of CargoLine's ten working groups. Its task is to develop new business areas for the cooperation, such as Cargoboard and the sea freight product SeaLine in 2019.
