She was therefore awarded the Bertha Benz Prize 2019 for her dissertation "Mechanical characterization and investigation of the deformation behavior of high-strength structures with 3D microarchitecture". Thanks to the knowledge gained in her dissertation, it will be possible to reinforce instability points in particular in a customized design in the future. One possible field of application would be in the area of mobile systems, as lightweight constructions enable significant material and energy savings.

In order to raise public awareness of the achievements of women in engineering, the Daimler and Benz Foundation has been awarding the Bertha Benz Prize every year since 2009 to a female engineer who has completed an outstanding doctorate in Germany.
