The general cargo cooperation 24plus logistics network has expanded its management team. On May 1, Stefan Rehmet joined the management of the general cargo cooperation as the designated successor to Peter Baumann. The 55-year-old Stefan Rehmet is a land transportation expert with management experience in medium-sized forwarding companies and corporate networks. 61-year-old Peter Baumann, Managing Director of 24plus since 1998, plans to retire when his contract expires in 2020.

Stefan Rehmet is moving to 24plus from Streck Transport in Freiburg, where he was responsible for land transportation, logistics and sales in Germany as Managing Director. At Streck Transport, Rehmet represented the interests of the medium-sized company in various network committees, including as a shareholder representative in the general cargo network System Alliance, as an advisory board member in the main transport organization Cargo Network and as a franchisee representative in the general cargo cooperation CargoLine.

Experience in medium-sized companies and corporations

Rehmet, who began his professional career in 1981 with an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent and continued his education as a transport economist and business economist, previously held various management positions at the forwarding and logistics companies Danzas, Hamann International, Dachser and DHL Freight. Uwe Müller, Spokesman of the Supervisory Board of 24plus: "Our new Managing Director Stefan Rehmet knows both worlds, that of medium-sized companies and that of corporations, and has gained a deep insight into various network organizations in his professional life."

Stefan Rehmet wants to use his induction phase to get to know the 24plus partners better: "I am looking forward to exciting new tasks in a strong network." The new 24plus Managing Director believes that the general cargo sector is undergoing a change that needs to be shaped. Rehmet is convinced that the concentration process in the general cargo market means that the principle of exclusivity in general cargo cooperations is a thing of the past: "Cooperation between general cargo cooperations has long been a reality that needs to be embraced and for which new ways need to be found. Due to the constantly changing needs of regional network partners, cooperation alone cannot satisfy these needs." It is therefore necessary for all cooperations to open up to corresponding volume control. Rehmet sees it as his task to promote cooperation between the networks and make them more permeable with IT systems: "I would like to bring a bit more of a start-up mentality into the general cargo business."
