Trade fair operators draw conclusions
Fachpack 2022 as a "melting point for new ideas"
Around 32,000 trade visitors, one in three of them from abroad, took the opportunity to find out about the latest trends and discuss them with experts at the stands of the 1,154 exhibitors at Fachpack.
This year's main theme "Transition In Packaging" struck a chord with the times. "Even though the overall situation is not easy for many companies at the moment, the European packaging industry was extremely innovative and solution-oriented at Fachpack," summarizes Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibition, NürnbergMesse. POWTECH, which took place at the same time, was also exciting for the Fachpack audience: almost a quarter said they were interested in the trade fair for mechanical process engineering and analytics. Fachpack will take a regular break in 2023 and will not take place again until 2024.
"Trade fairs are melting points for new ideas, this is where the future becomes tangible. Of course, our immediate future seems anything but rosy as a result of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, rising energy costs and inflation. But that is precisely why we need to talk about how we shape change. And here we need to use the jargon of the consumer goods industry: "Change has become a 'fast mover' since sustainability and digitalization have picked up speed and consumer expectations and framework conditions are constantly changing," Slotta continued.
Fachpack offered a comprehensive range of products and services along the packaging process chain: from packaging materials and packaging machines to packaging printing and finishing to logistics systems and services. Visitors to Fachpack came from 89, mainly European, countries. After Germany, they mainly came to Nuremberg from Austria, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, France, Turkey and Slovenia. Compared to previous events, the international share rose to around 32 percent (2021: 29 percent).
Over 90 percent of trade visitors were (very) satisfied with the range of products and services on offer in the exhibition halls, as the results of a visitor survey conducted by an independent institute show. 85 percent of trade visitors stated that they were involved in purchasing and procurement decisions at their company. More than half of them hold a managerial position. The visitors mainly came from the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and medical, cosmetics, chemical, electronics, automotive, retail, packaging and logistics sectors. Fachpack will take a regular break in 2023 and will next take place from 24 to 26 September 2024 at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg.
