Retrofit as a sustainable alternative
Every logistics system has its own expiration date. Reasons for this can include frequent malfunctions, increased requirements or missing interfaces. When this time comes, the question arises: new acquisition or upgrade?
Many companies decide to build a new system. Arguments such as performance and market standard are often the deciding factors. However, a retrofit can also offer this - and is also more ecological than a new build. The automation specialist Unitechnik has decades of experience in modernizing systems. On the one hand, a retrofit does not require any additional space for new construction. Nevertheless, the company can benefit from accelerated processes, faster information and a modern environment for its employees. Before starting, the experts at Unitechnik check whether and which potentials can be realized. The modernization can then be carried out during ongoing operations thanks to a digital twin. Existing resources such as steel construction and conveyor technology can continue to be used for many years to come. This turns a cost item into a sustainable investment in the future.
