Picking models presented
Linde MH presents order picking concept
Linde Material Handling and dealers from the eastern German region presented order picker models from the new N20 series and other innovations in the areas of digitalization and drive technologies at the Gläserne Manufaktur Dresden.
To bring the new concept closer to customers, Linde dealers in eastern Germany decided to hold an event with specialist presentations and exhibits. At the beginning of the event, Martin Stadtmüller, Head of Product Marketing at Linde Material Handling, gave an insight into the day-to-day work of an order picker or warehouse employee. In one shift, they cover the distance of a half marathon and the number of steps it would take to reach the top of the Empire State Building, lifting the equivalent weight of four VW Golfs. These framework conditions formed the basis for the new series' main focus on ergonomics. The ergonomic features of the eight new order picking trucks include a molded backrest, padded knee protection and the height-adjustable steering wheel specially designed by Linde.
Following the theoretical presentation of the new N20 series, Jonathan Grasse explained how the Linde connect modular fleet management solution can be used to introduce digitalization into various areas of application for industrial trucks.
In order to gain practical experience after all the theory, various vehicle models were on display in the foyer of the Gläserne Manufaktur. An N16 Li and two N25 C were on site as representatives for order pickers on the first and second shelf levels. The N16 Li, which impresses with a low entry height, wide driver's workstation and a lift mast for ergonomic order picking, and the two models of the N25 C series, which score points with height-adjustable components and a liftable platform, could be examined more closely.
Two vehicles from the range of reach trucks and electric front loaders were also on display. The R14 X, which is characterized for the storage and retrieval of pallet racks and applications with high handling capacity, could be examined in detail, as well as the electric front loader E20 PH.
