On July 16, 2021, the JadeWeserPort marketing company signed various cooperation agreements with Chinese companies. A letter of intent was signed with Anhui Provincial Port & Shipping Group Co., Ltd. and China Logistics Co., Ltd. regarding the further development of the "China Logistics - Wilhelmshaven Hub" logistics center. The aim is also to have a lively exchange on the topic of sustainable and innovative logistics.
In addition, the JadeWeserPort marketing company has concluded a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese company Hefei International Land Port Development Co, Ltd (HILP). The aim of this agreement is to further expand and consolidate container train services between the Chinese province of Anhui and Wilhelmshaven.

Lower Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH (JWPM), Dr. Bernd Althusmann, was also very pleased with the signing of the various cooperation agreements with Chinese companies:

"The signing of the various cooperation agreements between the state-owned JadeWeserPort marketing company and its Chinese partners is a strong sign of mutual trust and interest. This is also necessary in order to permanently establish a direct rail link between the Chinese province of Anhui and the JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven. The conclusion of the contract demonstrates the competitiveness of Germany's only deep-water container port, which also offers Chinese customers ideal conditions as part of the rail-side "One Belt One Road" initiative thanks to its optimal hinterland connections."
