Imperial sells Multinaut

Imperial has sold its 90 percent stake in Multinaut Donaulogistik Gesellschaft m.b.H. to Multinaut Managing Director Peter Jedlicka. This means that Jedlicka is once again the sole owner of the company.

In 2008, he sold 90 percent of his shares in Imperial and remained a managing partner with a ten percent stake.

The inland shipping company Multinaut operates from its locations in Vienna and Regensburg on the river and canal system of the Rhine, Main and Danube. A fleet of 25 ships, each with a loading capacity of 750 to 2900 tons, is deployed. Project logistics, pre- and on-carriage and transshipment services round off Multinaut's portfolio.

With the sale of its majority stake in Multinaut, Imperial is taking a further step in the sale of its European inland shipping activities. To this end, the company recently reached an agreement with Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG (HGK).

Hakan Bicil, CEO of Imperial Logistics International: "As we have already informed our customers, employees and investors, inland shipping is no longer compatible with Imperial's future strategic direction. In future, we will concentrate on expanding our existing activities in the Automotive, Healthcare, Consumer, Chemicals and Industrial industry verticals as well as on expanding our International Freight Management and our presence on the African markets.
