Schuon puts new logistics center in Wildberg into operation

The Alfred Schuon Group has opened its new logistics center in Wildberg/Sulz am Eck. In addition to office space, the transport and contract logistics company will have 9,000 square meters of logistics space at its disposal.

At the end of February, the opening of the Wildberg site was celebrated in the still empty hall (from left to right): Christian Endel (Goldbeck), Hendric Menzel (Goldbeck), Theo Schuon (Managing Director at Schuon), Christian Schlumbohm (Goldbeck), Alexander Schuon (Managing Director at Schuon), Steffen Singer (Logistics Manager at Schuon), Thomas Gersak (Technical Manager at Schuon) and Carolin Uetz (Goldbeck). © Schuon

At the conveniently located site, Schuon offers value-added services such as picking, packing, sequencing and pre-assembly. According to the company, one highlight is the approval for the storage of lithium-ion batteries classified as hazardous goods for the automotive industry.

"After eight months of construction, we have now put our new logistics center into operation. We are delighted to be able to expand our range of services and meet specific customer requirements even better," says Alexander Schuon, Managing Director of Alfred Schuon GmbH. In addition to storage, value-added services are also offered at the new location with 9,000 square meters of logistics space. Various goods can be picked, assembled, sequenced and pre-assembled in Wildberg. "This enables us to offer customers from various industries comprehensive logistics services from a single source," explains Schuon.

The golden yellow office building has 200 square meters of office, social and recreation rooms. In the new warehouse, goods can be stored on shelves 10 meters high. For fire safety reasons, it is equipped with a powerful sprinkler system. Lithium-ion batteries can therefore also be stored there. Deliveries are made via ground-level, covered gates and rear ramps.

The new site is conveniently located in the immediate vicinity of the A81 Stuttgart-Singen highway. "For customers from the surrounding towns of Calw, Nagold and Herrenberg in particular, this enables short transport routes to the conurbations of Sindelfingen/Böblingen and the greater Stuttgart area," explains Schuon. By further expanding the warehouse space for battery logistics, the service provider intends to continue to support the automotive industry with innovative solutions in the future. The Wildberg warehouse will increase the total logistics space to over 80,000 square meters.
