Logistics real estate: Panattoni is Europe's largest developer

Hamburg, 24.05.2017 - Panattoni Europe is the largest developer of industrial real estate in Europe according to the latest "Top Property Developers" ranking by PropertyEU magazine. The company with the largest total area developed between 2014 and 2016 made it onto the winners' podium. Panattoni developed 2.71 million square meters during this period.

Panattoni Europe consolidates its leading market position. The European subsidiary of the world's largest industrial developer, Panattoni Development Company, has been named Europe's largest developer in the annual ranking of PropertyEU magazine, a major European publication for the commercial real estate industry. The ranking includes the ten largest developers based on the total area of projects developed over the last three years. This year's list covers the years 2014-2016, with the title of "Top Property Developer" going to Panattoni Europe. In the last three years, the developer has brought a total of 84 projects with 2,710,592m² of space to the market.

The figures can mainly be attributed to the dynamic growth of the e-commerce sector. This is also illustrated by Panattoni Europe's major projects, the so-called Big Boxes, for companies such as Amazon in Poland and the Czech Republic (with 5 buildings and a total area of 681,700m², 3 of which are completed and 2 under development), Decathlon, H&M or Jago in Germany. Manufacturing also has a large market share, as does the automotive sector and the logistics industry, which provides services for numerous sectors.

Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer Europe, Panattoni Europe, emphasizes: "The first place in the PropertyEU ranking of top property developers - with developed and planned space - shows that we as a developer are able to manage a wide range of projects: from relatively small to large space developments, of up to 161,500m² in a single building. Our successful 2016 and the good start to 2017 are characterized by strong growth in the e-commerce sector and the generally positive economic developments in Europe. These circumstances bode well for investment activities in the warehouse market."

Since its beginnings in Central Europe, Panattoni Europe has already completed more than 4.7 million m² of modern industrial space in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. In addition, the company is currently developing almost 1 million m² of space in these countries. The company supports local companies in the implementation of multifunctional logistics and industrial buildings for various purposes, including build-to-suit projects that can be tailored to the respective customer. To further expand its activities, the company also acquires land itself for new investments in strategically important locations. Key customers include Amazon, Arvato, Coty Cosmetics, General Electric, TNT, DSV, H&M, BSH (Bosch), Carrefour, Kaufland, Tesco, Castorama, Intermarché, Jago, Leroy Merlin, Selgros, ND Logistics, Still, Schenker and Tchibo. In addition to Poland, Panattoni Europe also has branches in the UK, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Germany and Romania.
