LogiVisor Award
Wanted: The best German contract logistics companies
The number of logistics awards being presented in Germany is increasing. Prizes are often awarded for special economic successes or costly restructuring of the logistics business. But do the best logistics service providers with the most innovative solutions also win, regardless of their company size?
Better decisions through more transparency - that is the self-imposed goal of the business location platform Gewerbegebiete.de. For companies from production and trade looking for potential logistics partners on the platform, the range of information is being continuously expanded. However, the logistics landscape in Germany is diverse, with many first-class service companies: From specialized small businesses to solid medium-sized companies to global logistics groups. A complete overview of all service providers seems almost impossible. This is why Gewerbegebiete.de has launched the LogiVisor Award, a new and neutral "service provider finder" that enables all logistics service providers to present themselves free of charge on a central platform for companies from industry and trade.
"Our experience shows that the best realized logistics solutions are not always the best known and the best logistics service providers are not known by all clients. Through the evaluation from the field, some hidden champions will receive more attention," expects Kuno Neumeier, Managing Director of Logivest GmbH. The first presentation of the LogiVisor Award by Gewerbegebiete.de will take place at the same time as this year's transport logistic in Munich. On June 5, the "best contract logistics service providers in Germany" will initially be honored in four industry segments.
About judgment and facts
"The time is ripe for a new and modern format. The judgment of logistics professionals is still the best basis for assessing potential logistics partners. I am delighted that so many representatives of retail and industrial companies will be taking part. The LogiVisor Award brings justified attention to the best and not just the biggest service providers," says Stephan Meyer, owner of Stephan Meyer Management Consulting and co-initiator of the award.
The jury is made up of experienced logistics professionals from industrial and retail companies, supplemented by a core jury team of new and independent logistics experts. The core team includes Martin Schrüfer, Managing Editor-in-Chief of the magazines materialfluss and LT-manager, as a representative of the trade media. "I'm really looking forward to working with the experts," adds Schrüfer, "especially the combination of a core jury and practitioners puts the award on a very professional level that is free from outside influence."
"The hidden champions of logistics are an important part of our service providers at Henkel; they are characterized by a high level of customer orientation and agility. I think it's an excellent idea to give them their own stage with the Logivisor Award," says Torsten Röwekamp, Category Team Leader Warehousing Services at Henkel Global Supply Chain B.V.. Dirk Winkelhage, Vice President Group Logistics at WILO S.E. adds: "A logistics award is not an end in itself, but should express how well the customer's business is understood and implemented in smart solutions. For this reason, the focus on the Hidden Champions target group and the absolute neutrality of the award prompted me to take part in the jury." And Alexander Hagemeier, Vice President Global Logistics Operations at Weidmüller, says: "Meeting at eye level is important in logistics. Experience must be developed and utilized on both the shipper and service provider side, only then will cooperation in logistics be successful."
The application phase for contract logistics companies began in March. All information on the application process, the assessment criteria and the award ceremony in June can be found at http://www.logivisor.com.
