Milestone reached
Stacker no. 60.000 for Combilift
Irish forklift truck manufacturer Combilift has reached another milestone in the company's history when the 60,000th truck left the production line at the company's headquarters in Monaghan.
The customer taking delivery of this special model is Metroll, a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel building products, including roofing, cladding, rainwater, building structures and fencing.
Metroll has operations across Australia and the new Combi-CB3000 will be an addition to its fleet of 13 Combilifts in operation across the Metroll Group, with a further 10 units already on order. These range from 3 ton multidirectional stackers to a highly customized 10 ton model.
Combilift number 60,000 is used in the Toowoomba branch. The device has been equipped with features such as a 4.9 m triplex mast and a 3050 mm long goods traverse. These ensure the safe and problem-free handling of the long products that are common at Metroll.
Vic Josephs, Operations Manager at Metroll, explains: "Like most companies, we have a lot to do and are also growing rapidly, so space has become an important resource. With this device, we can use our space more efficiently and work safely at the same time. Safety is of paramount importance. With this forklift, we can get into tighter areas and pack our shelves closer together to maximize space in the factory."
Martin McVicar, CEO and co-founder of Combilift, comments: "This is a great achievement for Combilift, mainly because almost every truck we produce is unique, designed to meet specific and individual requirements. There are very few, if any, other companies that can offer this level of customization and produce in such quantities at the same time. The first half of this year has been by far the best in our 23-year history in terms of the number of orders received - not just for Combi-CB models, but for our entire product range."
Chris Littlewood, Manager of Combilift Australia, said: "The Combi-CB 3 tonne model is the most requested machine in the Australian market and represents 50% of the machines we have sold in the year to March 2021. So we're particularly pleased that one of our customers has taken delivery of this ground-breaking machine."
Following the successful collaboration with Metroll in Australia, Combilift is now also supplying its forklifts to the company's California-based operations. "We have often found that a recommendation from one country leads to sites elsewhere adopting the same material handling processes with our products," says Martin McVicar. "We would therefore like to congratulate Metroll on the delivery of our 60,000th truck and thank them for their continued support over the years."
