Compact motorized castor for pallets and heavy loads
Rulmeca has launched a new motorized roller onto the market. The EPS-AS1 roller motorizes roller conveyors for heavy loads of up to 1,500 kilograms.
The particularly compact design of the EPS-AS1 is achieved by positioning the geared motor unit inside the roller tube. By removing the external geared motor from the motorized roller conveyor, the castor scores with better weight distribution, as the self-supporting mass of the geared motor itself is eliminated. The compact roller can therefore also be installed a few centimetres above the floor.
This makes it possible to design roller conveyors with an extremely low loading surface to simplify loading and handling of the material. The EPS-AS1 is an oil-free motorized roller driven by a three-phase asynchronous motor coupled to a robust planetary gearbox. It can be used in a frequency range between 20 Hz and 60 Hz. The torque loss is generally no more than 5 percent. The IP54 protection rating makes it suitable for use in environments with dust and moisture.
