Conveyor technology
Gebhardt receives order from flaconi
The Gebhardt Intralogistics Group has been awarded the contract to integrate the Gebhardt SpeedSorter with a large packaging area and parcel conveyor technology with a connection to the material flow system at flaconi. The e-commerce company's new logistics center will be built by 2021 at the Halle site on an area of 28,000 square meters.
The online store's portfolio consists of over 850 international brands and 55,000 products. With the categories perfume, skincare, make-up, haircare and accessories, flaconi covers all product segments from drugstore to natural cosmetics to premium. With the construction of the new Fulfillment Center, flaconi is creating the conditions to further expand its ongoing growth and flexibly meet future market requirements.
"The Gebhardt Intralogistics Group impressed us with their tailor-made ideas for our new logistics center: right from the start, they responded optimally to our needs as a fast-growing retailer. The commitment shown by everyone involved in this project exceeded our expectations," explains Dr. Susanne Wruck, Head of Business Development & Operations Excellence at flaconi.
flaconi's requirement was to incorporate the strong growth into the intralogistics concept and thus offer a flexible and scalable solution. The scope of supply and services of the Gebhardt products consists of conveyor technology, the new Gebhardt SpeedSorter crossbelt sorter, the Gebhardt StoreWare MFS and the PLC control system. This will essentially create a large packaging area, which will include parcel conveyor technology and automated sorting technology as well as 274 workstations for picking and dispatching customer-specific orders. In future, more than 11,000 parcels per hour can be processed and made available to the outgoing goods department.
For Gebhardt, it is the first customer to implement the new sorting technology developed according to the crossbelt sorter principle - the Gebhardt SpeedSorter - in the system. "With flaconi, we have gained a prestigious customer that has grown strongly in recent years. We are very pleased that our product portfolio and the concept we have developed speak for themselves and that we can go down this path together," says Fritz Gebhardt, Managing Director of the GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group.
