Contactless handling of pouches

A new autodrop function enables the automatic unloading of bags in the BG Pouch System. Fashion logistics, courier, express and parcel services as well as e-commerce warehouses and logistics service providers are set to benefit from the new development. The system is also designed to minimize the use of mechatronics and reduce the space required in the unloading area.

With AutoDrop, companies can completely eliminate manual handling during unloading. This saves time at the packing stations and shortens order throughput times. According to the supplier, the Beumer Group Pouch System with AutoDrop can process up to 10,000 parts per hour and line. Several adjustable unloading points in an unloading line increase the flexibility for unloading requirements and at the same time reduce the space required in the warehouse. The Beumer Group Pouch System with AutoDrop is now available worldwide.

How it works

The technology is based on an innovative alloy with shape memory. An actuator made of this alloy is activated when the bag reaches the unloading position. The automatic opening mechanism consists of two rails that separate when activated and drop the item into the waiting packaging. This function enables AutoDrop to open and close the bags reliably - up to a million times without signs of wear. Compared to manual systems, automated packaging lines with AutoDrop technology have fewer mechanical components.
