RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz: Tecdos Omega Drive
The Tecdos Omega Drive from RUD is an innovative drive system for linear and rotary movements. The system has been nominated as materialfluss product of the year 2025 in category 2: Conveying and lifting technology.
The speed of up to 12 m/min at full load and the low energy consumption make it the right choice for a wide range of onshore and offshore applications. The system uses a round steel chain that adapts to the object to be moved and, thanks to its flexibility, compensates for movements in the load or the ground. This minimizes the influence of deformations and thermal expansions. Compared to classic rack and pinion or sprocket solutions, Omega Drive is insensitive to impurities such as sand, dirt or ice, making it a robust solution. The system therefore remains functional even under extreme conditions.
Tecdos Omega Drive can be driven by electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motors, depending on requirements. The design also ensures easy installation and maintenance. The option of purchasing the drive as a complete system with electric motor reduces integration costs and ensures more efficient operation.
