Working platform for trucks & co.
New from Hymer-Steigtechnik: Modular multi-purpose work platform
Whether for maintenance, repairs or servicing - the new modular multi-purpose work platform from Hymer-Steigtechnik is ideal for all work in logistics and industrial companies. It also offers maximum safety and a high level of comfort for work at height where a strut-free base and flexible height adjustment are required.
"With our modularly configurable multi-purpose work platform, we now have a real all-rounder in our range," emphasizes Thomas Casper, Sales Manager Access Technology D/A/CH at Hymer-Steigtechnik. The platform is suitable for all work on the truck tractor, from changing windows at the front of the truck to servicing the air conditioning system and all repairs or maintenance in the hydraulic area at the rear of the tractor. It can also be used for regular maintenance work on machines and systems in industrial companies. The multi-purpose work platform enables an absolutely safe and ergonomic stand despite a wide range of different applications," says Thomas Casper.
Two basic modules available
The extremely stable basic module platform offers sufficient space for comfortable and safe working. The aluminum platform is 80 cm wide and 3.25 m long. The walking surface is made of non-slip aluminum (grooved R11). A height adjustment system, which can be either locked or cranked, makes it possible to work safely at different levels - from a standing height of 80 cm to two meters. Whilst the height adjustment for pegging is ideal for use with minimal adjustment intervals, the height adjustment can be varied flexibly using the crank. The Multi working platform can be infinitely adjusted using the crank, even with little effort - without having to use a forklift or crane.
The castors included as standard ensure easy movement (ø 160 mm). The work platform can therefore be moved quickly to where it is needed and stowed away again easily and safely.
The maximum permissible load on the platform is 300 kilograms, so that the user can safely carry heavy hand tools and aids. All-round fall protection with a clearly visible strut in the HYMER signal color red protects the worker on the platform and thus enables concentrated work even during longer activities.
Configure accesses individually
The platform can be accessed in three different ways: via a ladder, a four-arm staircase or a four-arm staircase with integrated platform. The multi-purpose work platform therefore adapts effortlessly to individual requirements and conditions such as the hall layout.
The ladder access is virtually predestined for use in the workshop, where space is sometimes limited," says Thomas Casper, explaining the advantages of the aluminum ladder frame and aluminum hook-on ladder configuration. Access via the ladder is from the front on 80 mm deep steps. At 35 cm, the internal width of the ladder offers plenty of free space and therefore maximum stability.
The work platform can also be accessed from the front via a four-stile staircase - either without an extension platform or with a platform and staircase in a space-saving L-shape. The four-stile staircase automatically adjusts to the height of the work platform (approx. 19°-59°) and has railings on both sides. The steps are 30 cm deep and also have a non-slip surface (grooved R11). "Anyone who needs to quickly pick up a tool that has been left behind for their work on the work platform or has a heavy toolbox to carry is naturally more agile and, above all, safer on these steps," says Thomas Casper, adding: "In everyday working life, time is often of the essence and it is precisely in situations like these that we minimize the risk of accidents with stable and safe access technology."
Add-ons for even more security
Hymer has a whole range of different add-ons available to flexibly supplement the multi-purpose work platform. For example, a forklift attachment set or a crane eyelet set make it easier to safely raise and lower the platform and move it within the hall. With the forklift set, the fork mounts are fitted directly underneath the platform. Alternatively, four crane eyelets can be mounted directly on the platform frame. Belts or ropes from the indoor crane can be attached to the eyelets. The platform of the multi-purpose work platform can thus be effortlessly raised or lowered and positioned at the desired height. If you need to level out any unevenness in the ground underneath the multi-purpose work platform to ensure greater stability, you can opt to use two additional crank spindles. They are positioned at the front of the traverses.
Storage trays, available in two different sizes, are also available as an option. The storage trays are simply hooked onto the railing. They provide space for tools or small parts so that they are always ready to hand.
