SSI Schaefer, international provider of warehouse automation and deep-freeze logistics, and Noatum Logistics Middle East have announced the successful implementation of a joint project: With the installation of the mobile racking system from SSI Schaefer, the largest mobile deep-freeze racking system in the United Arab Emirates has been created. This is part of the KLP21 Warehouse Hub of the AD Ports Group in the Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). The use of the mobile racking system has increased storage capacity by more than 90 %. Noatum Logistics Middle East is a regional subsidiary of Noatum for end-to-end logistics services.

Not only have the cooling efficiency and storage density been increased, but safety in the warehouse has also been further optimized. It has several fail-safe mechanisms and a programmable logic controller (PLC) that enables individual and automatic control. With the increasing demand for standardized, modern cold storage in KEZAD, the partnership meets the needs of many customers while accelerating business growth in the region and beyond.

Cosmin Sebastian Ilie, Head of Business Unit Product & Equipment APAC MEA, SSI Schaefer, said: "We are honored to have partnered with AD Ports Group and subsequently Noatum Logistics Middle East on these transformative projects. This cooperation, which reflects our core values of customer centricity and long-termism, drives innovation and excellence in the logistics industry and enables our partner to provide state-of-the-art warehousing solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customers. We look forward to continuing our successful journey and growing and thriving together in the region."

Previous Cooperation: Cold storage distribution center for pandemic vaccines

AD Ports Group and SSI Schaefer have been working together for several years. SSI Schaefer developed and installed a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking) storage solution to optimize the Group's deep-freeze storage capacity. This solution played a crucial role in the storage and distribution of more than 260 million vaccine doses to over 65 countries worldwide as part of the HOPE consortium, a public-private partnership led by Abu Dhabi to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
