Over 1,000 COMs sold

Witron presented the Order Picking Machinery (OPM) system for the first time in 2003 - an invention of company founder Walter Winkler. The heart of the system is the Case Order Machine (COM), which was ordered for the 1,000th time in spring 2019.

Based on customer requirements, the company developed the OPM system in 2003, which has been continuously improved and adapted ever since. Now in its fourth generation, the focus is on integrating e-commerce processes, digitalizing processes, simulating them with a digital twin and collecting and analysing data as a decision-making aid for the operator. "13 years ago, we presented end-to-end automation from goods receipt to dispatch for the first time," recalls Helmut Prieschenk, Managing Director of Witron, adding: "We would like to thank our customers for their trust and our employees for their commitment." The OPM is used for order picking in both the dry and fresh ranges as well as in the frozen range. According to the company, OPM technology generates benefits along the entire supply chain, from advantages within the distribution centers to optimizations in goods transport and synergies in the supermarket. Thanks to its modularity and flexibility, it can be used economically in almost all warehouse sizes without any problems.
