Knapp: Optimized pharmaceutical logistics with AutoPocket & SDA
Pharmaceutical wholesaler Limedika supplies over 1,500 pharmacies and hospitals in Lithuania. For the expansion of its warehouse in Kaunas, the company opted for a logistics solution from Knapp that combines AutoPocket & automated picking systems (SDA).
Batch picking was thus made possible with the AutoPocket pocket sorter system from Knapp. The focus was on efficient processing of small orders in particular. End customers appreciate solutions such as Click & Collect and are also increasingly ordering pharmaceutical products online. The many small orders would not have been possible with picking machines and the existing conveyor technology alone.
Integrating the AutoPocket pocket sorter into the existing warehouse logistics system offers fully automated and efficient omni-channel order processing, seamless documentation and a flexible design with scope for further growth. Essentially, the existing warehouse structure could remain in place.
