SSI Schaefer: Site consolidation with the help of SSI Logimat warehouse lifts
Kellenberger AG from Goldach, Switzerland, merged four locations into one in 2023. In order to digitalize the logistics processes and make them more efficient, SSI Schaefer implemented a holistic logistics solution consisting of six SSI Logimat storage lifts including the matching Wamas Lift & Store software. The solution has been nominated as materialfluss Product of the Year 2025 in Category 1: Warehouse and picking technology.
The SSI Logimat storage lift is a dynamic solution for storage and order picking based on the goods-to-person principle and can be compared to an oversized drawer cabinet with two vertical rows of trays. An efficient lift system is located between the two rows over the entire height to transport trays to the operator opening. There, staff can pick the goods safely and ergonomically from the tray. The additional installation of cantilever racking and PR 600 modular pallet racking has created extra storage space for pallets and long goods.
The six SSI Logimat storage lifts are operated by just three employees on average, making Kellenberger much less dependent on staff availability.
