Industry initiative takes over
www.logistik-hilft.de is moving
The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML is the first supporter of the industry initiative #LogistikHilft to transfer its internet domain www.logistikhilft.de to the initiative. This means that all information about #LogistikHilft can now be found on one website.
The brokerage platform for transport capacities, storage space and personnel, which was launched at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, will also be made fully available to the #LogistikHilft initiative and will move with it. The website http://www.logistikhilft.de will be managed by LUIS Technology on behalf of the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL), which had already jointly operated the previous website of the industry initiative.
The following information will be available on the homepage www.logistikhilft.de in future:
- News about the work of the industry initiative, in particular the sanitary container campaign.
- #LogistikHilft webshop, through which hygiene articles (e.g. FFP2 masks, rapid coronavirus tests) can be ordered at low cost (4 cents per mask go into the donation pot).
- Mediation platform/free bulletin board launched by Fraunhofer IML in March 2020 to facilitate the exchange of personnel and resources and thus support the functioning of the system-relevant logistics industry during the coronavirus crisis.
The industry initiative #LogistikHilft is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL), the non-profit association DocStop, the industry insurer KRAVAG and many other donors and supporters with the aim of providing truck drivers with access to sanitary facilities. The patrons of the initiative are Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer and the Federal Government's Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics, Parliamentary State Secretary Steffen Bilger. The #LogistikHilft industry initiative uses the donations to set up shower and toilet containers in places where truck drivers have not previously had access to sanitary facilities.
Since the campaign began in April 2020, more than 7,000 uses have been registered (at 6 locations). Together with the "BMVI Instant Shower Container Program", a total of 25 shower containers have been set up so far. In total, the initiative expects over 50,000 uses at all 25 locations to date. The #LogistikHilft portfolio will be completed with the integration of the platform for transport capacities, storage space and personnel into the industry initiative. The pinboard is accessed around 2,000 times a week and is a valuable building block for companies in the logistics sector.
