Groundbreaking ceremony in Lingen
Krone Group builds new Future Lab validation center
The official ground-breaking ceremony for the new Krone Validation Center took place on February 28 at the Lingen Industrial Park. Bernard Krone, Managing Partner of the Krone Group, explained the idea behind the cross-location center.
"We have decided to bundle our validation activities within the Krone Group. That is why we are setting up the Krone Future Lab here in Lingen, where we will carry out the technical validation of all Krone product developments and also process country-specific homologations of vehicles and machines." Other important areas include precise service life verification for vehicles, machines and axles as well as the development of autonomous driving concepts.
"There are numerous interfaces within the Krone Group's various areas of activity, so we will achieve a large number of synergies by pooling our expertise," Krone continued. In addition, the excellent infrastructure with direct access to the A31 highway and the Lingen campus, a branch of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, with which Krone already cooperates intensively, speak in favor of the Lingen location.
The new Krone Future Lab is being built on a total area of around 13 hectares. The plans include a machine hall with workshops and a test hall with test benches and offices. The validation center is Krone's strategic response to ever stricter legal requirements and increased demands on the quality, function and operability of manufactured products. The Krone Group's initial investment in the Future Lab amounts to around 20 million euros.
