Funding for intelligent trailer technology
Kögel recalls the fleet renewal program
The Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) has given the green light for applications for the 2021 fleet renewal program. The federal government is thus supporting the acquisition of intelligent trailer technologies. The application period begins on January 26.
Funding of up to 5,000 euros or a maximum of 60 percent of the acquisition costs will be provided for the purchase of intelligent trailer technology. So far, the legislator has defined these as "technologies whose use offers considerable efficiency reserves in operation and thus reduces energy consumption." According to the Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG), technologies such as tire pressure measurement or digital axle control for semi-trailers and trailers as well as aerodynamic add-on parts for semi-trailers or trailers are eligible. In addition, the costs of creating the conditions for using a trailer in combined transport are also eligible for funding. A complete list of all eligible options has not yet been published.
The acquisition of the trailer must be proven to the granting authority two months after purchase and by December 31, 2021 at the latest. According to the BAG, "acquisition" means that the applicant must be the owner or lessee of the vehicle. It is important to note that the vehicle must remain in the applicant's ownership for at least 24 months or be leased for 24 months. A prerequisite for the subsidization of intelligent trailer technology is the simultaneous purchase of a brand-new truck that meets the requirements of the current Euro VI emissions standard or is electric or hydrogen-powered if an existing truck with Euro 0 to Euro V/EEV emissions standards is scrapped at the same time.
Large selection of green trailers
Kögel offers all transport and logistics companies a range of eligible equipment as part of the fleet renewal program. The additional costs incurred by creating the conditions for using a trailer in combined transport are also subsidized. The range of rail-loadable trailers eligible for subsidies is diverse. In addition to the Kögel Cargo, Kögel Cargo Coil and Kögel Mega curtainsider versions, the Kögel Box box trailer is also available for rail loading. The rail-loadable Kögel Cargo Rail scores highly in terms of body height and rail codification, as the double codification enables the use of different rail routes with the same vehicle thanks to the optional FlexiUse body. Other eligible equipment includes OptiTire (tire pressure monitoring), Tire Pilot (tire pressure monitoring and control), the electronically controlled air suspension system OptiLevel (ECAS), the dynamic wheelbase control OptiLoad & OptiTurn and, in the "aerodynamic attachments" category, the OptiFlow Side Wings. All of the products presented fall under the funding guidelines of the 2021 fleet renewal program.
