First DEKRA seal for slings
DEKRA has awarded the first DEKRA seal for industrial slings. The first certified company, J.D. Theile GmbH & Co. KG (JDT) in Schwerte, is a global manufacturer of chain slings and hoist chains, as well as slings and lifting points in grades 8, 10 and 12.
The DEKRA seal is based on the applicable technical standards and regulations. It includes a type examination and regular quality checks by the materials specialists at the DEKRA laboratory in Saarbrücken: Dimensional tests, determination of traceability, weather resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, mechanical-technological tests such as tensile tests, bending tests and hardness tests as well as the chemical composition of the material.
The new DEKRA seal is aimed at manufacturers and users of round steel chains, sling chains, individual chain parts and attachment points for industry and mining technology. The first certified company, J.D. Theile in Schwerte, JDT produces conveyor chains and accessories for the mining industry, as well as sling chains for offshore applications.
