Central logistics location in the Harz Mountains
A new logistics location, the so-called Global Parts Center, is being built in Halberstadt as the heart of the global spare parts supply. In future, deliveries can be made from this central location. It will be consistently designed to meet the requirements of Daimler Truck customers, so that regional dealers can be supplied directly or collect parts themselves as required.
Karin Rådström, CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks: "Halberstadt and the Global Parts Center will play an important role in the future: The spare parts from our new logistics center will make a significant contribution to ensuring that our customers and their trucks can be on the road and that we live up to our claim 'Trucks you can trust'." In future, up to 300,000 different items - from the smallest screw to the finished truck cab - will be delivered from the center to almost 3,000 vehicle dealers in more than 170 countries. This will make an important contribution to securing the international flow of goods.
Thanks to state-of-the-art warehouse and conveyor technology, all parts will be available for immediate retrieval in an automated high-bay warehouse and an automated small parts warehouse. Construction is still scheduled to begin in 2023, with commissioning planned for 2026.
