Brit-Pol continues to grow: 156 Krone vehicles delivered

The British transport company Brit-Pol is currently expanding its fleet by 156 Krone units, which will be delivered successively by mid-July. The family-run company intends to use them to carry out further transport tasks in the Benelux countries and Europe.

Founded around ten years ago, the rapidly expanding company delivers car parts and general cargo within the UK and the Benelux countries. Now, says Adam Zegocki, Director Operations, the new vehicles will be used to quickly set up a Europe-wide transport service.

"Flexibility is the key to our growth plan," he explains. "By specifying the new Krone vehicles, we can set up our loading capacities for a wider range of customers. For example, the Box Liner container chassis are designed to transport 20-, 30-, 40- and 45-inch containers, two boxes at a time or a standard-sized container. In combination with the Twist Lock quick-release fasteners, we can handle the containers quickly and easily."

The new curtainsider trailers are equipped as standard with Krone's MultiLock outer frame, which has around 130 lashing holes on each side of the vehicle; this means that practically any load can be securely fastened anywhere on the loading area. All trailers have sliding roofs, and the Mega Liner with an interior height of 3 m is also equipped with a hydraulic lifting roof, which provides up to 50 cm of additional space when loading oversized cargo.

The tarpaulins with integrated spring steel strips and the flush steel container doors with concealed door locks also ensure the best possible safety. The 30 mm thick, all-round sealed floor complies with EN 283 for floor loads up to max. 7,000 kg forklift axle load.

A total of almost 40 Box Liner container chassis, 60 Profi Liners and 60 Mega Liners will be added to the fleet. All vehicles are equipped with Krone axles, for which Krone offers a six-year unlimited mileage warranty. Some of the vehicles are operated by TIP Trailer Services UK. "We want to work with the best, so TIP was the obvious choice as a true pan-European market leader," explains Adam Zegocki. "Good vehicles and high availability in the UK and Europe allow us to offer our customers flexible supply chain solutions." In addition, Zegocki explains that TIP, whose global fleet comprises 125,000 trailers and 8,000 tractor units, has developed a bespoke financing solution for 26 vehicles and spread them across several financing partners to achieve an "optimal leasing arrangement for 3 to 5 years".

"Krone has given us the best technical, operational and financial advice we could wish for, as well as providing exemplary vehicle quality that meets our needs and those of our customers. As we expand our operations further into Europe, it's good to know that we have Krone's expertise and TIP's back-up service. If we need help, we can simply enter the location of the vehicle via the Service Locator and a selection of Krone partner workshops will be displayed," praises Zegocki.

From its headquarters in Killingholme, Brit-Pol will operate the expanded fleet, which will include 175 trailers and almost 90 tractor units (including Scania, Volvo, MAN and DAF), under the watchful eye of Webfleet Solutions' vehicle tracking system. According to Zegocki, the system enables vehicle tracking and telematics monitoring of key vehicle functions - including brake wear and tire pressure.
