Doing, not chatting...

Dear readers,

The saying "do, don't talk" is quite a casual one, but it describes the industry perfectly this year. The order books are full and it is hard to remember a press release with modest sales figures.

New concepts are leaving the realm of science and finding their way into planning, be it under the broad umbrella term of sustainability or Industry 4.0. It is not only e-commerce companies that are growing at the same time and renewing and expanding their logistics; in many places, the time is ripe for the long overdue construction of new logistics centers. This issue of Spektrum sheds particular light on this topic. What technology is used in modern logistics centers and what do those responsible need to consider in order to make the investment successful in the long term? On a total of 28 pages, our special section on new buildings provides answers, shows solutions and products and gives industry experts a chance to have their say.

With this issue, "Materialfluss" says goodbye to the summer break, during which we let the "doing" follow the "talking": The double issue 8+9/2016 will be published on September 19 with a new logo and new layout, with an exclusive Materialfluss Round Table on the topic of conveyor technology and other surprises. The design of the magazine's homepage will also change significantly by then and will not only be "responsive", but also present our topics more concisely. Enjoy the summer!
