Of makers and heroes

Let's be honest: Are you a hero and always up for extraordinary achievements? A hero with all the trimmings? Courageous, idealistic, virtuous? I would have my problems with the latter at the latest. Logistics hero. A strange expression indeed, to be read on the flag of the recently launched image campaign of the same name. It is intended to draw attention to the role of logistics in our daily lives, the key phrase being "order today, rejoice tomorrow", poor truck drivers and all that.

After all, someone has to implement and transport the consumer wishes of the German population. So far, of course, I agree with the campaign. For me personally, however, the term "hero" carries too much pathos. Let's move on to the creators of the campaign, the "Wirtschaftsmachern". This is what the initiating group of logisticians call themselves. It is also aimed at the fact that logistics makes the economy possible in the first place (or wasn't that supply and demand? Never mind ...). That is (more) correct: Logistics does, and does so reliably every day, and not just when there is a beautiful maiden to be freed or an evil dragon to be defeated.

Keyword hero sagas. I am pleased to announce today that WEKA BUSINESS MEDIEN, together with the logistics trade media materialfluss and LT-manager, has recently become an official supporter of the Wirtschaftsmacher. I have been working even more diligently on virtuous heroism since then, I promise!

Doing instead of talking was also the motto of the IFOY Awards: The gala, this time held in Vienna at the end of April as a co-event of the so-called Hermes Transport Logistics Award, saw six successful and innovative companies. Despite the extensive after-show celebrations, their managing directors and managers were very heroic the next morning at the traditional materialfluss ROUND TABLE - the interview is available exclusively here in the intralogistics trade magazine from page 26.

Best regards!
