LT-manager 05/2018
Editorial: Digital transformation
Dear readers, 2018 will soon be over. What comes next remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the progress of the so-called digital transformation will be even more decisive in 2019 than the tactical skills of even the best coach in the world can ever be.
Nothing digital, nothing understood, nothing future, relegation. Or, to put it more elegantly: dematerialization is progressing. In other words, if you used to carry metal keys with you, an app on your cell phone will soon take care of unlocking them. Good for you, bad for the company that makes the keys. Logical, you think now? And that's not all, to paraphrase the wonderful writer Hans Bemman. The example of the key, picked up at the 19th TEAM Logistics Forum in Paderborn at the end of November, which was excellent as usual, is just one of many. Dematerialization, with all its advantages and disadvantages: Which example comes to mind spontaneously? The next issue of LT-manager will materialize in the new year. Just in time for the LogiMAT intralogistics trade fair, the LT-manager team will wake up from hibernation and announce what everyone knows by now: LogiMAT is booming. This time, there are even more than 1,600 exhibitors (and not just a paltry 1,100, as was outrageously and inexplicably reported in LTM 4/18 due to a transmission error). So: 1,600! In Stuttgart! Only there! Well then!
Best wishes from Munich,
On behalf of the LT-manager team, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a roaring New Year!
Yours
Martin Schrüfer
Managing Editor-in-Chief
