Ideas and successes
Among the more than 1,500 exhibitors and what felt like 1.5 million exhibits, I would first like to talk about what at first glance appears to be an ordinary exhibit. But it shows that intralogistics is not just about bling-bling, but about solutions. A few years ago, Schoeller Allibert presented the foldable large load carrier called "Magnum Optimum" (and already showed the revised version in Nuremberg). The "thing" is lighter and more space-saving than a metal pallet cage and can be handled by one person. And it can withstand a load of 750 kilograms. The large load carrier could be poised to replace the "GiBo", which has been in widespread use for almost 50 years. Schoeller Allibert has already sold more than 500,000 units of the "Magnum" without much fanfare - a quiet success story. From the masses to the idea: SW-Paratus can not only produce pallet changing devices, but also transport trolleys. It has developed a trolley especially for the meter-long light profiles of large lighting manufacturers. This simplifies delivery to the construction site enormously and is currently causing quite a stir. You first have to come up with the idea and then develop it properly! Two examples of many that make this industry something special. Innovative and sustainable work is being done on the logistics of the future, including green logistics, a topic of this issue.
Logistics, a theme of this issue, is being practiced and further developed (short interviews from page 8). We prefer to leave the air packaging to Amazon, which, according to reports, now wants to make greater use of decommissioned pallet cages for shipping. With that, I would like to hand over to our columnist Intra ("Dear Amazon ..." on page 51) and remain with best regards as
Yours
