Labeling

When the robot labels more efficiently

Herma has launched the 211 HC RC, the first robot-assisted labeling cell for wrap-around labeling. It labels around 20 products per minute and is therefore around 25 percent faster than a comparable semi-automatic labeling machine without the use of robotics, without any loss of concentration over a longer period of time, even in continuous production.

Shuttles

Flexible conveyor line design

Stein link, a new intralogistics system from Stein Automation, combines material flow and assembly automation. The application's battery-powered shuttles transport even heavy components efficiently and gently, for example between the warehouse and production line. This increases the flexibility of the conveyor line design.

Software

Integrated sourcing platform for an efficient supply chain

Geopolitical factors and climate change have already posed enormous risks for manufacturers in all sectors in recent years. It is therefore necessary for companies to have an overview of all factors that determine material costs and to ensure the quality and reliability of deliveries. An end-to-end integrated IT system can also support supply chain management with a focus on sourcing.

Downward trend has been halted

Elvis market report: Scarce capacities due to spring recovery

In its market report, the European Association of International Freight Forwarders (Elvis) AG sees the first signs of a recovery in the overall economic situation. However, the spring upturn means that loading space capacities are becoming scarce. The increasing number of customer tenders is also putting greater pressure on freight forwarders in the contract business.

Logistics concept with modular production...

Perfectly driven for sophisticated logistics at SEW-Eurodrive

SEW-Eurodrive, the market leader in drive technology, decided to build a new plant at its Bruchsal site in order to be able to meet the constantly growing demand for electronic components in the future. In addition to state-of-the-art production technology, the aim was to implement a sophisticated logistics concept with modular production islands that are supplied flexibly via driverless transport systems. Together with the Gebhardt Intralogistics Group from Sinsheim, the project was tackled and the most modern electronics plant in Europe was realized.
