Hörmann Intralogistics has implemented an intralogistics solution for timber logistics for the Mayr-Melnhof Holz Group in Leoben: This combines an automated, three-aisle high-bay warehouse - which stores and retrieves sawn timber packages with board length differences - with conveyor technology and a semi-automatic truck loading hall. The high-bay warehouse with two storage and retrieval bays and one storage bay increases efficiency. Thanks to continuous operating times and a storage and retrieval capacity of at least 63 parcels per hour, the warehouse capacity is optimally utilized.

The modular belt conveyor technology connected to the HBW and made of lubricant-free plastic offers a major advantage. This enables gentle material transport. The plastic conveyor belts also serve the automatic packaging line. The semi-automatic truck loading hall connected to it offers a flexible solution for the rapid provision of timber packages.

The solution has been nominated in Category 5: Project of the Year 2025. Were you impressed by the project? Then let us know your opinion and vote. Click here for the reader voting!
