LogiMAT 2017: Sophisticated access technology for industrial requirements

Many activities in industrial and logistics companies require the use of access equipment. As a specialist in industrial access technology solutions, the southern German manufacturer Hymer-Leichtmetallbau offers both tried-and-tested series products and completely customized designs. The company will be presenting selected series products and exemplary special designs at the LogiMAT trade fair from March 14 to 16.
Which access technology solution offers the greatest safety and optimum ergonomic comfort for users depends on various factors: Should it be used for maintenance and servicing, for optimizing logistical routes, for warehouse activities or for permanent work on machines? On which systems will it be used and to what intensity? How long will users spend on the climbing aid? Is one solution needed for different purposes? "In the industrial sector in particular, more complex access technology products are often required to ideally meet the needs of companies," says Michaela Weber, Marketing Officer at Hymer-Leichtmetallbau. The southern German company has been developing and producing high-quality, sophisticated access technology for over 50 years, which is characterized by a high degree of flexibility and stability. The manufacturer offers solutions for every requirement with its series and special constructions divisions. Customers can also choose between different quality levels depending on their individual requirements and the expected degree of use.
Flexible application options
When developing the access technology series range, Hymer-Leichtmetallbau not only focuses on the stability and durability of the products. The aluminum specialists also focus on the flexibility of possible applications and therefore ergonomic working in all areas of use. "Our extendable platform ladder, for example, is a valuable work aid," explains Michaela Weber. The platform ladder consists of the basic HYMER ProTect model, which can be converted into the telescopic HYMER ProTect+ model in just a few minutes using a simple extension set without tools. The distance between the rungs of both ladder elements can be varied independently of each other, which means that they can even be used in a staircase position. A self-closing safety door, which also serves as a guardrail at the rear, comfortable wide rungs and the non-slip platform, which is equipped with a handrail, toe boards, a four-sided guardrail and a knee rail, ensure maximum safety during use. Infinitely adjustable stabilizers reinforce the stability of the platform ladder.
Optimal price-performance ratio
With the convertible modular industrial step 6877, Hymer-Leichtmetallbau has added another flexible climbing aid to its standard range. The step, which can be retrofitted at any time, is available with between one and five steps and can be quickly and easily converted into various body combinations. Components such as castors, a holding aid and a handrail can be added to the equipment. A bridging section with a length of 0.75 meters further extends the flexible application options, explains Michaela Weber: "If two steps are connected using this platform, the industrial step can also be used as a highly stable and safe step-over." Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is presenting the 71020 folding step from the ALU-PRO range as a new addition to the company's access technology series. "Not every access aid is required for permanent, continuous use. It doesn't always have to be the premium version, even in an industrial environment. This lightweight, compact folding step is perfect for regular storage, assembly and maintenance work and is a stable solution with an excellent price-performance ratio," says Michaela Weber, explaining the benefits.
Modular solutions tailored to your needs
Another focus of the trade fair presentation is the area of special constructions - access technology designed to meet specific requirements, such as stairs, landings, platforms, bridging steps and much more. With the HYMER modular system for special constructions, the access technology specialist has standardized individual elements in stock that can be easily combined to create exactly the access technology solution you need. Depending on the requirements and intended use, different stair inclinations, step widths and depths, platform sizes, shapes and materials can be selected and additional components such as safety doors, plug-in railings, drawers or height adjustment can be integrated. If an even more individual access technology solution is required, the experts at Hymer-Leichtmetallbau can of course also design a completely new one. "At our stand, we will be showing visitors just how individual and flexible these solutions can be with a specially designed work platform with many practical additional functions," announces Michaela Weber.
Visitors to the LogiMAT international trade fair for distribution, materials handling and information flow at the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center from March 14 to 16, 2017 will get a comprehensive impression of the high quality and flexible usability of the products at the Hymer-Leichtmetallbau stand (Hall 3, Stand 3D40).
