Satellite warehouse turns 40
Westfalia Logistics Solutions celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Satellit load handling device at Logimat. The system is designed for storage on pallets, other loading aids or palletless.
It enables particularly deep storage channels, maximum storage density and compactness thanks to maximum storage capacity on a minimum footprint. Satellites are the heart of many turnkey storage and logistics systems that the general contractor has already supplied to more than 500 customers worldwide from a single source. It develops, designs and assembles many components directly at its headquarters. These include storage and retrieval machines, roller conveyors, cross transfer cars and vertical conveyors. He supplies and installs his systems including control systems and, depending on the customer order, including software and IT infrastructure.
The Savanna.NET warehouse execution system has also been programmed at the company headquarters since 2005. It combines all the functionalities of a warehouse management system and a material flow control system, is easy to implement and grows modularly with intralogistics.
