Kasto: Efficient use of energy in the warehouse
Kasto Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG is presenting an intelligent system for the efficient use of energy in automated storage systems. Using the example of a Unitower tower warehouse, visitors to the trade fair will be able to experience live how excess kinetic energy can be recovered, temporarily stored and used flexibly as required. This reduces operating and investment costs as well as CO2 emissions. The technology leader in sawing and storing long metal goods has been offering its storage systems with optional energy recovery for years. Excess kinetic energy generated, for example, when braking the stacker crane or lowering the lifting gear can be converted into electricity and fed back into the grid. Users can thus reduce the power consumption of their warehouse technology by up to 40 percent.
