Aberle sets up AKL for automotive spare parts

MS Motorservice International GmbH (Motorservice), based in Neuenstadt am Kocher, commissioned Aberle GmbH as general contractor to set up a new automated small parts warehouse (AKL). Aberle handed over the new three-aisle small parts warehouse with around 30,000 storage locations for double-deep storage of containers in June 2016. The stacker cranes in use equip the picking stations with a capacity of 130 storage and retrieval operations per hour and stacker crane. Aberle has also connected the new mini-load warehouse to the existing conveyor system of the Motorservice logistics center. Warehouse management in the miniload and optimum control of the material flow are handled by the standard Wacos software from Aberle Software. Motorservice supplies more than 1,300 customers worldwide with automotive spare parts from the logistics center at the company's site. "The upcoming automation of small parts storage and order picking will further increase our high level of service and efficiency in order production," says Jürgen Nowack, Head of Logistics at Motorservice, explaining the reasons for awarding the contract.
