MHP Solution Group acquires customs experts AZS-ZOB

The MHP Solution Group, a provider of end-to-end logistics software and hardware solutions, acquired AZS-ZOB GmbH with retroactive effect from January 1.

"With the acquisition of AZ-ZOB GmbH, we are consistently pursuing our strategy, which is not only focused on expansion, but also on broad-based solution expertise," says Jasmino Burkic, CEO of the MHP Solution Group. © MHP

With this new addition, customers benefit from a software solution programmed in SAP for preference calculation and the associated supplier declaration management. In addition, AZS-ZOB offers SAP-integrated solutions for compliance, export controls and import and export declarations via the ATLAS IT process. A tool for tariffing and maintaining master data is also integrated. All modules can be run in both ERP and S4HANA.

With the know-how of AZS-ZOB, the MHP Solution Group is expanding its foreign trade expertise. This makes the provider the only logistics software company that can simultaneously serve SAP and non-SAP customers as well as major customers with heterogeneous IT landscapes. Only 12 months ago, the MHP Solution Group took over part of the former AZ-ZOB GmbH and integrated it into its own portfolio as AZ GmbH. With the remaining AZS-ZOB GmbH, the SAP division is now also coming under the ownership of the MHP Solution Group. This brings the company even closer to its vision of offering customers future-oriented end-to-end solutions from a single source.

Preferential calculation is a procedure for determining the originating status of a product. By determining the originating status, manufacturers or exporters can claim preferential treatment and benefit from reduced customs duties, for example.

With this further company acquisition, the MHP Solution Group, based in Neustadt am Rübenberge near Hanover, is continuing its growth course and employs over 300 people in eleven subsidiaries. Eleven of these are located in Germany and one in Spain. The new addition is assigned to the Customs business unit, which includes solutions for foreign trade, export and compliance. Other product areas of the MHP Solution Group focus on warehousing, shipping and transportation and, together with Customs, form the so-called "MHP Simple Chain". This means that customers benefit from a suitable solution as well as the necessary technical expertise and solution competence at every point in the supply chain.

"With the acquisition of AZS-ZOB GmbH, we are consistently pursuing our strategy, which is not only focused on expansion, but also on broad-based solution expertise," explains Jasmino Burkic, CEO of the MHP Solution Group. "The new member of our group completes our portfolio in the area of customs and at the same time expands our SAP expertise," continues Burkic. "I am delighted that the preference calculation and SAP expertise we have built up since 1996 is now being incorporated into the strong MHP Solution Group. We are thus offering our customers a long-term perspective and planning basis," emphasizes Thomas Pittasch, who has reinvested his proceeds from the sale of the company in the MHP Solution Group. He is thus clearly committed to the long-term orientation of the MHP portfolio.

Founded in 1999, the MHP Solution Group has been consistently expanding its portfolio with company acquisitions for several years: MHP Software formed the starting point in 1991. TIA was integrated in 2010 and the MHP Solution Center in Spain in 2013. Aisys and BNS were added in 2016. LogControl, KDL, Panda Products, AZ and Transdata followed in 2019 and 2020. At the same time, the Group is developing a logistics suite with a business intelligence approach that combines data from all solutions. This enables customers to manage the entire supply chain based on key figures and in real time.
