materialfluss PRODUCT OF THE YEAR 2021: Warehouse Healing from S&P Computersysteme comes out on top

Six winners have already been determined, now it's the software's turn: on March 25, the winner in the software category of the materialfluss PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR 2021 was chosen. Victory went to S&P Computersysteme, followed by redPilot from Austria and viastore Software.

More than 20,000 votes were cast in the readers' poll of materialfluss, the specialist medium for logistics and intralogistics. Ten solutions and products competed for victory in the warehouse and order picking technology category.

1st place: S&P Computersysteme - Warehouse Healing with intelligent algorithms
In the age of digitalization and automation, almost all logistics centers have one thing in common: the consistent use of data to derive recommendations for action or strategies has largely fallen by the wayside. The new warehouse slotting strategy "Warehouse Healing" defragments the warehouse and reduces travel times for man and machine through the intelligent analysis of movement data and shopping baskets. This greatly reduces the costs for the most labor-intensive process in a warehouse - order picking - with little effort, which above all leads to increased performance and efficient resource planning in the warehouse.

2nd place: redPILOT - Sustainable resource management
With the redPilot Operational Excellence Solution, logistics systems can be operated at their optimum limit at all times. Constant changes such as a growing number of articles, fluctuating order structures and short-term unavailability of personnel and machines present warehouse operators with challenges. redPilot optimizes the use of automated and manual resources. The solution supports warehouse management in finding the operational deployment plan based on selectable target criteria, such as the most economical allocation or the fastest possible order processing. In addition, an algorithm that recognizes dynamic bottlenecks and overcapacity suggests suitable alternative actions for operational management on the shop floor in every situation.

3rd place: viastore software - viadatAlert app
With the viadatAlert app, users receive push notifications about events in their automated logistics center when it is managed with viadat 9. viadat manages and controls the processes of the entire intralogistics system, from goods receipt to production and assembly to shipping. With viadatAlert, viastore creates an ideal addition: the app sends messages from viadat as push notifications directly to the user's smartphone or tablet. The user configures which messages they want to receive via the viadat 9 user interface. It is also possible for push notifications to be sent not only to the user individually, but also to defined user groups, such as control center employees or maintenance staff. The user can display detailed information for each message. This includes a descriptive text that provides information on the solution. iOS and Android are supported.
