Inventory management modernized with LogoMate

The food retailer Mpreis manages its stores and logistics center with LogoMate from Remira. With the help of the inventory management software, the company is reducing its stocks and increasing the availability of goods at the same time.

Mpreis supplies 220 stores throughout Austria from its central warehouse near Innsbruck. The company currently uses LogoMate in its logistics center for inventory management and scheduling of 90 percent of its dry goods range as well as for some of its dairy products and egg products.

Every day, up to 1.2 million items (SKUs) are ordered for the stores using the software. The software has made it possible to significantly reduce stock levels while at the same time avoiding sell-out situations. This is possible thanks to the forecasting function, which uses sales figures to calculate which goods will sell and how in the future. Sales forecasts are used to determine the necessary requirements and safety stock levels for each item at each location. Various influencing factors such as seasonal effects, discount campaigns and new releases are taken into account.

So-called out-of-stock situations are thus avoided. "In various product groups, we are seeing the effects of increased product availability, such as the precise implementation of centrally specified product ranges, a reduction in clearance sales and increased sales," says the Mpreis service center, adding that the use of the software has also had a noticeable effect on the local supplier's employees: in each store, the ordering time per day has been reduced by up to 45 minutes.
