Dr. Thomas + Partner changes name to TUP
Dr. Thomas + Partner GmbH & Co. KG changed its name on March 16. The new name of the intralogistics software company from Stutensee is TUP GmbH & Co KG.
With the new company name TUP, the warehouse management software experts are replacing the previous name with a shorter version. One point that was given great importance in the decision in favor of the three letters is the internationally uniform and unambiguous usability. As before, the series of letters, pronounced "T-U-P", stands for 'Thomas und Partner'.
Since the company was founded in 1980, the intralogistics specialists have traded as DR. THOMAS + PARTNER, but the series of letters TUP has long been familiar to more than just insiders. Originally, the acronym even came from the market before it was taken up internally.
"Names and designations serve as anchors and objects of identification in the complex market situation. By changing the name, we are creating clarity," explains Mathias Thomas, CMO and owner. "Short, simple, clear - efficiency is just as welcome here as it is in intralogistics, for which TUP supplies high-quality warehouse management systems," comments CEO and owner Simon Thomas. In this sense, the renaming also follows the TUP claim "Software follows function."
