Dematic realizes conversion to SAP-EWM

As an energy service provider, ENSO Netz GmbH from Dresden relies on a warehouse that guarantees high availability and fast response times, even at peak times. In order to be well equipped for the increasing requirements in the future, the company recently commissioned Dematic with the conversion to the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP-EWM) system. The material flow system (MFS) and the control level (PLC) were also to be integrated in order to create a consistent IT infrastructure. The aim of the energy service provider was to map the entire warehouse typology in SAP. "A key factor for efficient and transparent intralogistics is a consistent software architecture," says Michael Kreutzmeier, Head of SAP Sales Europe at Dematic. As SAP EWM has corresponding standard interfaces, the connection to the ERP system and ENSO's other SAP modules was also straightforward. Dematic implemented the conversion of the warehouse, the heart of which is an automated area with a four-aisle high-bay warehouse and a single-aisle box warehouse, within eleven months, including the planning, test and trial phase.
