Vahle donates 500 protective masks to Vestische Kinder- und Jugendklinik

Paul Vahle GmbH & Co KG is helping in the fight against the coronavirus by donating 500 face masks to the Vestische Kinder- und Jugendklinik Datteln. The mouth and nose protection was supplied by the Chinese subsidiary Vahle Mobilizing, based in Shanghai, as a sign of solidarity.

"As the majority of our workforce has been working from home since mid-March and our colleagues at the production site in Kamen are already being looked after, it is a matter close to our hearts to provide support where help is more urgently needed," says Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co.

As in many facilities, protective clothing and masks are in short supply at the children's hospital in Datteln. When Vahle received the 500 FFP2 masks from its Chinese subsidiary, it was immediately clear that they should be donated. At the beginning of April, the Kamen-based company supplied local police officers and firefighters with 500 masks each.

Prof. Dr. Claudia Roll, Chief Physician for Neonatology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Vestische Kinder- und Jugendklinik, is grateful for the donation: "We are very pleased about this gesture of friendship and this strong sign of international solidarity."
