Silke Fischer expands management team at RAIN
Silke Fischer has joined RAIN - Rapid Innovation GmbH as Business Director Logistics. The provider for the development of customized apps and services for the automation of business processes in logistics is further expanding its management team.
Fischer brings with him many years of experience in sea freight and logistics and will be responsible for the strategic and content-related direction of Rain's data-driven digital logistics and SCM solutions with immediate effect.
Expertise in the design of global supply chains
Fischer's expertise in the development of global supply chains, as well as risk and bottleneck management, will enable the company to tap into the productivity and growth potential in the logistics sector in a targeted manner. Their many years of expertise in shipping and logistics complement RAIN's data-driven approach: together, they are pursuing the goal of providing logistics and SCM managers with access to high-quality, previously unavailable real-time data. This improves risk management and significantly increases the predictability of logistics processes.
Silke Fischer has over 30 years of experience in maritime logistics. Before joining RAIN, the engineering economist held numerous management positions in global logistics companies. Most recently, she was Managing Director at the German Logistics Association. Silke Fischer on her new role: "When I look at the logistics sector, I see enormous potential - but also challenges that we urgently need to tackle together. There is still a lot of room for digitalization to improve processes here. Too often I still find manual activities because of outdated systems that keep data "trapped" in silos instead of using it for better planning and automation. RAIN has shown me how existing systems and standard software can be enhanced quickly and effectively through innovative use of data, AI and smart apps. I would have liked to have had these possibilities much earlier. Together, we are now ensuring that we make faster progress in logistics and need significantly less Excel and emails to master this complex job."
Mathias Sinn, founder and Managing Director of RAIN, also explained: "With Silke Fischer, we are gaining a unique expert with extensive industry knowledge, strategic vision and great passion - a perfect addition to RAIN. In logistics as in digital product development, there are countless details that need to be understood in order to quickly and noticeably improve mostly known problems. Together with Silke's in-depth expertise, we are now ensuring that truly relevant data is available in a quality that enables our customers to solve key challenges in the industry: automating manual work steps, making economic growth scalable and achieving differentiating competitive advantages with their own real-time data."
