New global management structure at Hellmann
The Supervisory Board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics announces upcoming changes to the Management Board and the International Executive Board (IEB). The new composition of the global management team will take effect in January 2025.
In recent years, Hellmann has created a basis for sustainable growth by implementing a new organizational structure, making significant investments in IT and digital infrastructure and introducing a new corporate culture, according to the company. Under the leadership of Jens Drewes, who took over the role of CEO in June of this year, the focus is now on building on this foundation to increase market share in all product areas.
"The strong performance of recent years shows that Hellmann is in a very solid position. Now is the right time to fully exploit this potential and further expand the company's global presence in all product areas - not only in Europe, but worldwide. The personnel changes create the conditions for the next phase of growth, and I look forward to developing Hellmann further together with the management team," says Dr. Thomas C. Lieb, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Changes to the Executive Board
Jens Wollesen, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) for all product areas and a highly valued member of the Management Board, has decided to leave the company at the end of the year in order to have more time for his private life for the time being. "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jens Wollesen for his exceptional commitment and outstanding work. Over the past few years, he has made a significant contribution to making Hellmann what it is today," adds Dr. Thomas C. Lieb.
As part of the strategic orientation to further strengthen the focus on customers and markets, two COOs will be appointed to the Management Board from next year. They will each assume responsibility for three product areas and, together with Jens Drewes, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Martin Eberle, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will form the Management Board as a whole:
Stefan Borggreve, currently Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and member of the Executive Board, will be appointed COO Road, Rail and CEP and will assume responsibility for the expansion and transformation of these product segments. In his new role, he will also continue to drive forward the key strategic topics of IT&Digital, innovation and sustainability.
Madhav Kurup, currently Regional CEO IMEA, will be appointed to the Executive Board as COO Airfreight, Seafreight and Contract Logistics. In this role, he will - in close cooperation with the respective product COOs at IEB level - be responsible for the global strategic direction of the respective divisions and further develop existing and future joint ventures. At the same time, his appointment enriches the cultural and regional diversity of Hellmann's Executive Board, reflecting the company's global growth objectives. Madhav Kurup will continue to lead the IMEA region on an interim basis.
Changes to the International Executive Board
In addition, there will be changes in the IEB, Hellmann's second global management level. Jonathan Adeoye, currently COO Road Germany and Western Europe, will take on the role of COO Road with global responsibility at IEB level. His focus will be on strengthening the market position in Europe.
