Focus on digitalization
Karsten Bley new Managing Director of Sievert Logistik
Sievert Logistik SE has a new top management team: Karsten Bley has been responsible for the Westphalian logistics service provider's business since September 1.
Under the new management, the subsidiary of Osnabrück-based Sievert SE is to be positioned for the future. This includes the expansion of contract logistics and disposal in the silo sector as well as the digitalization of business processes. Since March of this year, Bley has shared the management with Rui Macedo, who left the company at his own request on 31.08.2022.
"The logistics industry is facing major challenges both nationally and internationally. In order to tackle these in the best possible way, we are repositioning ourselves with Karsten Bley," says Jens Günther, CEO of Sievert SE. The aim is to become best-in-class in building materials logistics with fully digitalized processes. "With Karsten, we have brought an experienced expert on board to meet our own standards and customer requirements," says Günther.
"Sievert is an incredibly innovative company and very quick to implement customer-specific requirements. I would like to build on this and further develop Sievert Logistik together with the team," says Karsten Bley, Managing Director of Sievert Logistik. Bley knows his way around both the shipper and the service provider. The 50-year-old has many years of professional experience as a manager for supply chain, transport logistics and contract logistics in international industry. He has also worked as a managing director in market-leading logistics companies in the field of palletized and bulk goods as well as silo management. "I am looking forward to the exciting challenge of making Sievert Logistik fit for the future and providing my own impetus - especially with regard to digitalization and the development of new business models."
Bley is paying particular attention to the topics of digitalization and the shortage of skilled workers: "One of my first to-dos is to create a digital working environment and get skilled workers excited about Sievert Logistik." He also relies on a modern vehicle fleet, regional presence through a large number of locations, short decision-making paths with direct responsibilities and high quality standards in order to continue to be a reliable and consistent partner for customers. Bley reports directly to the CEO of Sievert SE, Jens Günther.
