Jörg Sommer becomes new CEO at StreetScooter

StreetScooter is getting a new boss: Jörg Sommer will become CEO of the Swiss Post subsidiary from April. He was previously COO of the US electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Chanje.

Jörg Sommer has ten years of international professional experience in the field of electromobility, which he gained at Renault and Volkswagen, among others. He was head of VW's electric mobility division worldwide and responsible for business in this segment for VW, Audi and other Group brands in the USA, Europe and China. He was also responsible for the position of "Brand Director, Upper and Electric Vehicles" at the Renault Group and held various management positions at Daimler.

As StreetScooter's new Chief Innovation Officer, the previous Managing Director Achim Kampker will in future concentrate on the development of new e-mobility concepts, technology and business fields as well as cooperation with the scientific community.

Thomas Ogilvie, Group Board Member Corporate Incubations at Deutsche Post DHL Group, emphasizes: "StreetScooter is a great success. We are now continuing to prepare for the future by combining Achim Kampker's scientific excellence with Jörg Sommer's great international mobility expertise. In this way, we are preparing the ground and bringing research and practice together to leverage the great potential for the future."
