Hellmann expands Management Board: Jens Wollesen becomes COO
As of January 1, 2022, Jens Wollesen will join Reiner Heiken (CEO) and Martin Eberle (CFO) on the Management Board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In his new position on the Management Board, he will be responsible for the four product segments Air, Sea, Road&Rail and Contract Logistics as well as IT & Digital. As CEO, Reiner Heiken continues to manage the six regions of the Hellmann Group as well as HR, Sales, Corporate Development and Marketing & Communications. As CFO, Martin Eberle has been responsible for the entire Finance division as well as Insurance and Legal & Compliance since March 1, 2021. The appointment of Jens Wollesen by the Supervisory Board and the associated reallocation of responsibilities will significantly strengthen the Executive Board. The company is thus creating the conditions for a stronger focus on the respective areas of responsibility in order to achieve its ambitious growth targets.
Jens Wollesen holds a degree in industrial engineering and has been a member of the Board of Management of the BLG Logistics Group for the past five years, responsible for the Contract Logistics division. Prior to that, he was a member of the management board of Kühne + Nagel Germany and Central Europe for twelve years and a long-standing member of the management board of Stute Logistics. Jens Wollesen began his training and career at J.H. Bachmann in Bremen.
"As part of the global growth strategy "Fit4Growth", we have defined a detailed plan for Hellmann up to 2025, which now needs to be implemented. In order to be able to focus on the associated tasks in both the operational and strategic areas, we have expanded and strengthened the Management Board with Mr. Wollesen, a proven expert. He has extensive experience not only with regard to the operational logistics business, but also in the areas of digitalization and innovation management - two topics that play a central role in Hellmann's growth strategy. With Mr. Wollesen's arrival, we will also achieve an optimized division of tasks so that all members of the Management Board can focus better on their areas and, in particular, on customers and employees in the future," says Dr. Thomas Lieb, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
